Favourite places

Whenever I get home long enough to have a little spare time, and my wife lets me go, this is a part of BC. that I disappear into, the other side of the river puts me into total isolation.

Wolverine set

Last week I was lucky enough to get out and set a few traps, unfortunately I had to head back to work, so my friends are looking after them for me. Maybe one day I'll be able to have a little more time off, and relax a little more doing the things I enjoy.

Three little visitors

Working on the rail and the Vixen Fox has a den right over the bank, the kits are very curious and come right to our feet, beautiful little creatures.

Spring Bear

Well another Spring hunting season over. I was not lucky enough to take a Grizzly, but did end up taking a small Black Bear. Another photo of a nice Bull Elk but his antlers are a little short yet to scratch his whatever.

Slow Spring

Went out to the trapline today to check conditions for Spring Beaver trapping , but the creeks have barely started opening up yet, and there is still around 2-3 feet of compacted snow on the roads. Found the remains of 3 different Wolf kills. Two Moose and one Elk, I was fortunate enough to recover the Elk skull and rack. Its really unfortunate for the Elk they just started coming into this area about seven years ago, so the wildlife biologists opened up a hunting season for them, and so many Wolves with so much snow, they barely stand a chance.

Grizzly

Well finally time for holidays after a long Winter.
I have the whole month of May off, and I am heading out in a few days to go Beaver trapping
and Grizzly hunting.

The Grizzly in the photo was taken a few days ago at the last bridge we installed for the season.
